ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Jasmax Film Festival began in Auckland (Academy Cinema) in 2004 and ran for four days. In 2005 the festival was expanded to include Wellington (Penthouse Cinema), and last year Christchurch and Dunedin were included in the programme (Rialto Cinemas).

The festival originated because Jasmax wanted to make the public aware that great towns and cities are a result of societies, communities and individuals who, piece by piece, lay together a collection of buildings and spaces that touch our hearts and inspire us.

The Jasmax Film Festival began in Auckland 2004, showing for four days. Since then it has grown substantially and in 2007 the Festival ran for 7 days and played in 12 locations across New Zealand.
To date more than 200,000 New Zealander’s have enjoyed our films.

In 2006 Jasmax brought Home and Entertaining (Home NZ) on board as our media partner for the festival. The Jasmax Film Festival is now “Jasmax Film Festival brought to you by Jasmax Architects and HOME New Zealand.” This partnership ensures that we have the necessary exposure that the festival deserves.
