Liam Carey is a Senior Architectural Technician at Jasmax. After completing his initial studies in Ireland, Liam worked for architectural practices in the UK in a range of building typologies, including social housing, education, and medical care facilities.

Liam’s focus is on leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust, coordinated documentation packages and develop details and technologies to attain the best results on-site for clients. Liam enjoys bringing technical rigour to projects in the early design phase, while retaining the vision of the designer. Liam specialises in model management and the integration of interdisciplinary information, having adopted Revit in 2001 while working for a forward-thinking practice in London. He has significant experience using 3D modelling and Building Information Modelling (BIM) management for design and documentation.

Since moving to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2008, Liam joined Jasmax as a Senior Architectural Technologist and worked on numerous tertiary and commercial projects. After a stint with Mott MacDonald as Senior BIM Modeller, leading preliminary and developed design phases for the Auckland Airport Domestic Terminal project, Liam returned to Jasmax to focus on the façade delivery of the same project in 2019.

Recently, Liam also led the technical delivery of the façade for Tōtara Haumaru, the new 20,000 m² hospital facility at North Shore Hospital. This project involved the coordination of inground services, piling, ground beam and slab development, as well as envelope and detailing, as it serves as an extension to the hospital’s existing services.
