One of the greenest buildings in the Canterbury reconstruction programme, Ara’s new 6,500sqm Architecture and Engineering building was recently opened in Christchurch. The sustainable building, constructed mainly from timber, utilises innovative building technologies and has been designed to use and visually display building and sustainability techniques for the 620 students that will occupy the facility.
The building was opened by Prime Minister, The Rt. Honourable Bill English in a celebration involving students, staff and those who had worked on the project.
