Congratulations to the Te Takitaki team! This year’s winner of the Brick Bay Folly Competition. Now in its third year, the competition encourages the intersection of sculpture and architecture, and aims to support emerging architects and those completing their architectural studies.

Te Takitaki, which will be unveiled on March 26, was designed by Architectural graduates Sophie Edwards and Jayne Kersten from Jasmax and Tom Dobinson and George Grieve from Patterson Associates in collaboration with landscape architect Winston Dewhirst from O2 Landscapes.

Te Takitaki was inspired by the structure of a Māori palisade.

The installation joins Daughter of the Swamp at the Brick Bay Vineyard, which was co-designed by Jasmax Architectural Graduate, Raphaela Rose in 2016.
