Congratulations to the CDHB and Burwood Hospital Project Team, recognised at the NZIA Canterbury Branch Awards held in Christchurch last night!
Burwood Hospital was awarded in the Public Architecture Category and the jury had the following to say about the project:
“Three practices have combined their expertise and knowledge of the site into one collaborative team. Every aspect of the new Burwood Hospital is focused on the staff and patients' wellbeing, often through long rehabilitation stays.”

The hospital upgrade provides a coordinated response which streamlines healthcare delivery for older persons health services in Canterbury. The project is also the first major government funded project and key healthcare facility to be provided post the 2011 earthquake, supporting the city’s recovery.
This project was designed and delivered by Jasmax, Klein and Sheppard & Rout in Association – read more about it here.
