Health Planner and Senior Architect, Onno le Roy is an international architect with a significant healthcare background in the design and construction of large and complex healthcare projects. These vary from aged care facilities to private and public hospitals. He has worked on super-sized greenfield developments as well as complex renovations in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Belgium, The Netherlands, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to joining Jasmax, Onno was based in the UAE as was one of the compliance reviewers for the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD). Through this role he also became a driving force behind the creation of the Design Guidelines for Healthcare Facilities, liaising directly with the key stakeholders at government level. Through working internationally and in a variety of roles as architect, healthplanner, project manager, client representative and compliance reviewer, Onno has developed a good understanding of what makes a healthcare project successful.
His involvement in some of the world’s largest healthcare projects will allow Onno to add some international flavour to New Zealand projects, particularly to the way masterplanning is executed.
Key recent overseas projects include the Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the Aga Khan University Hospital in Kampala (Uganda), the Al Ain Hospital in Al Ain (UAE), Sidra Medical & Research Centre in Doha (Qatar) and Sengkang General Hospital in Singapore.
In Australasia, his key projects include the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Ascot Integrated Hospital in Auckland, Auckland City Hospital and Christchurch Women’s Hospital.
