The Terrace is a compelling mixed-use development, enhanced by leading urban and landscape design principles.
As a vibrant, living neighbourhood, this mixed-use development integrates 17 hospitality businesses, retail and $50m worth of office space, intersected and activated by a series of iconic laneways.
The Terrace will consist of nine buildings, including Westpac Headquarters, connected by six laneways, a promenade and bridges; all spanning from the street face into a sunny inner courtyard. The building lends heavily from its waterside location overlooking the River Avon. Its materials have been selected to have relevance to the place, and views preserved and prioritised over the river.
One ingenious sustainability feature of the development is the use of the aquifer (permeable rock which contains or transmits groundwater) to regulate water temperature through heat exchange.
The masterplan’s overall vision is to transcend the world of office parks and urban malls to create a home and heart for the city, a place for people to come together that fosters excellence and encourages visitors to return again and again.
This project was designed by Jasmax in association with NH architecture.
